S&C’s Power Systems Services Seminar:
Application and Performance of Electrical Distribution Equipment
This seminar has been specifically designed for technicians, technologists, or graduate tngineers working at different responsibility levels in electric utility departments, consulting engineering firms and equipment manufacturers who are engaged in material specification, system planning, design, project management, or operation and maintenance.
The unique seminar offers a blend of theoretical and practical information gained by the speaker during his long career in industrial plants and hydro utilities. The objective of the course is to outline the characteristics of the electrical equipment used in the construction of power distribution system, with special emphasis on the application and subsequent performance. Design requirements and ratings, which must be considered at the time of component selection, will also be discussed. A number of “what went wrong” examples will be discussed.
Throughout the course, reference will be made to applicable Canadian and American Standards, e.g. CSA, ANSI, CEA, etc. The operation of some components will be explained using actual samples. You will derive the most benefit when you solve the practical assignments.
Dates and Fees
The seminar will be held October 27–29, 2008 at S&C Toronto headquarters, located at 90 Belfield Road which is quickly accessed from the 401, 409 and 427. The course will run from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm each day, and a bound set of notes will be provided. Refreshments and lunch will be freely available to all attendees. Contact S&C for hotel rate code after registration.
The fee is $1,395.00 CDN per attendee plus GST. Cancellations must be made prior to October 10, 2008 to allow for an 85% refund. No refunds will be issued after October 10, 2008. Alternate attendee(s) are acceptable but please advise name(s) in advance of seminar.
