Enhanced Hookstick Design for Hookstick-Operated Omni-Rupter® Switches.
S&C is pleased to introduce an enhanced design for Omni-Rupter Switches with the Hookstick Operating Mechanism. The new “prong style” hookstick mechanism is easier to use with a standard “extendo” stick. The enhanced visibility of the hookstick mechanism also facilitates operation at night or during inclement weather . . . times when ease of operation is especially important. The new hookstick design will be standard on all Hookstick-Operated Omni-Rupters shipped after April 2003.
Hookstick-operated Omni-Rupters cut installation time by 60%. There’s no need to contend with field installation of vertical operating pipe, guide bearings, and operating handle. And no field adjustment is needed . . . ever. Wood poles can warp over time, causing standard manual operating mechanisms to misalign. But pole warpage can’t affect Omni-Rupter’s hookstick operating mechanism since it’s factory-assembled and adjusted to the switch base.
