PureWave UPS™ System Maximum Run Time Extended.

The PureWave UPS System has had a maximum run-time rating of 60 seconds at either full or partial loads. Continued testing and field experience has permitted an expansion in run time ratings for partial loads for up to 180 seconds. The maximum run time for full loads remains at 60 seconds. This new rating applies to both low- and medium-voltage UPS systems.

The total run time is subject to a limit in the amount of energy expended to correct the voltage disturbance or outage. The following chart illustrates the amount of time the UPS will run and support the critical load, and is based on the connected load as a percent of the maximum UPS load capacity.

The UPS will support a load that is 33% of the full-load rating of the UPS, for 180 seconds.

For a 50% load, the UPS will support the load for 120 seconds, and for a 75% load, the UPS will support the load for 80 seconds.

This represents a significant increase in run-time over prior PureWave UPS ratings, and is over 10 times longer than most rotary flywheel systems. Contact your local S&C sales representative for more information on the PureWave UPS System.
